Company Background

The late Mr Tan Lim Siang founded Sin Loong Seng Engineering Works in 1963 as a sole proprietorship. Initial core businesses were mainly fabrication : heavy metal works for land engineering and projects, offshore platform jackets for oil rigs and heavy. duty main components for the shipbuilding and ship repairing industry

Singapore’s industrialization programme in Jurong started after Independence in 1965 and had progressed very quickly. SLS business also thrived together with the economy. In 1966, our Company was granted a piece of JTC factory land at No. 15 Jalan Buroh, Jurong Town, and immediately after business continued from there.

In order to cope up with business expansion, SLS was converted to a private limited company in 1975. We had remained at the old factory for a total of 33 years until Jurong Town Corporation invited us to relocate to Tuas in 2002.

On 23rd November 2002, Sin Loong Seng Engineering Works Pte Ltd commenced operation at the brand new factory at Tuas with a total land area of 8086 m² and a total buildup area of 5320 m².

After 40 years serving the marine, offshore, oil and gas industries, we are now slowly moving towards our niche market in metal rolling and bending services. We aim to be specialists for such jobs and we want to strive to be one of the best in these skills in the market place. The next time you shop for rolling and bending, ask for SLS by name.
